Bucket List ✔️
I came to the realization today that last night I officially completed my big bucket list item: to reach all inhabited continents (because not really counting Antarctica) before I turn 30. Last night I touched down into Asia checking the last one off the list.
I developed this goal fairly early into my 20’s, recognizing it was a large feat to accomplish. But I decided I wanted to see as much of the world as I could. And I wanted to try to do it young. Any time I try to explain what traveling is to me I am disappointed at my lack of ability to express it. But here goes again.
For me traveling brings life and passion, it displays beauty and wonder, it exposes vulnerabilities and fears while encouraging growth and stretching. To be immersed in a culture other than your own is power, education, and beauty. To be gifted the opportunity to behold views and visions of God’s work of art in new lands - witnessing rolling hills, majestic mountains, vibrant lakes, dramatic beaches not seen before is precious. Wandering new and peculiar cities with unfamiliar customs, markets, culture in every way is eye opening. To meet beautiful humans of every color and tone, language, dress, and to see a universal smile linking us all as one...It’s all breathtaking.
God speaks to us all in different ways. For me I have found my most profound growth has been through either my deepest of trials or through great adventure (which sometimes have been together). God is good and has blessed me so much. When I return from my trip and am able to gather and flesh out my thoughts a little more, I will share all that God has been teaching me. Until then, I am praying that this little post encourages more travel and opening minds to allow God to speak in new ways.
